Meet Jasmine

Candidate for Digital Marketing Coordination Manager

My career has one throughline: protecting the rights of people forced to flee. I've approached that mission from nearly every angle — digital fundraising, communications, international refugee program management, donor engagement — and it started with my own family's story as immigrants.

Across a wide-ranging career in organizations rooted in the migrant cause, I've grown into someone who thrives in the creative freedom to learn new systems, build workflows, and train staff on best practices that advance our mission and engage our donors. That's meant diving into new CRMs to develop donor-centric lifecycle campaigns and segmented email production. It's also meant creating approval workflows and centralized campaign calendars that deliver high-quality, aligned messaging to our supporters. It all taps into my curiosity for digital fundraising platforms and donor psychology, my love of organization and design, and a donor-centric mindset — in service of a vision I feel deeply called to: a world where every person forced to flee can build a better future.

It is with wholehearted enthusiasm that I apply for the Manager, Digital Marketing Coordination role, ready to bring my rare combination of digital fundraising experience, international refugee advocacy, systems training expertise and commitment to ethical donor engagement in service of USA for UNHCR's mission.

I am grateful for your time and consideration, and look forward to discussing how my background can support your team and this role's contribution to USA for UNHCR's newest 5-year Strategic Plan!

My Portfolio

From automated donor lifecycle campaigns and CRM training resources for staff, to donor engagement communications, and virtual events, I've developed dozens of digital assets designed to enhance strategic communications and mobilize donor engagement.

My work has focused on maximizing organizations' CRM capabilities, creating the systems and training that keep teams aligned, to the guides and toolkits that turn supporters into active participants. Explore some highlights below to see how I've combined communications strategy, systems-building, and engagement to elevate immigrant and refugee rights.

Donor Lifecycle & Retention

This year, I developed and launched the Young Center's first automated workflow for new donor journeys — a lifecycle email series focused on the first 30, 60, and 90 days of all new donors, including recognition of first-time donation anniversaries. The series has reached over 1,300 new donors with consistent, automated touchpoints designed to deepen engagement in their earliest days of giving.

Building this donor journey drew on my direct experience owning email approval systems through EveryAction's TargetedEmail CRM — a CRM whose underlying digital strategy and data logic is identical with Engaging Networks. By partnering with program teams, I ensured that the copy was brand-aligned, audience-appropriate, and ready for deployment. I also format emails directly within the CRM, which has given me hands-on experience troubleshooting layout, links, and other HTML/CSS-adjacent production issues.

Have 5 Minutes?

In November 2024, I won the International Rescue Committee's Learning Collaborative Award for the innovative program structure I built for the CAM Refugee Family Reunification Program.

Watch a 5-minute clip of my presentation to the IRC's Vice President and HQ Unit for a look at how I build systems and translate complex migrant protection work into clear, accessible communication for technical and non-technical audiences.

My Story

As a first-generation college student raised by formerly undocumented immigrants in the United States, I watched how inaccessible so many systems could be, and how critical nonprofit organizations became to our ability to access basic resources. That experience fueled my purpose: to strengthen the organizations that do the work of protecting and supporting migrants around the world.

This means that my path to digital fundraising isn't just informed by industry best practices and innovative strategy — it's driven by lived experience: serving asylum seekers in immigration courts, reunifying refugee families across Central and North America, and supporting my own local community as a first-generation American.

These experiences have slowly evolved into a passion that has never been clearer: to learn the skillsets needed to equip staff with the training, resources, and systems they need to deliver life-changing services to migrants around the world.

This passion has fueled my resilience in the face of uphill battles: whether it's navigating service-threatening funding cuts, crafting cases for support on behalf of migrant communities before donors, or amplifying the voices of migrants through strategic storytelling and digital marketing during emergency response efforts. This experience has also shaped my drive to learn quickly and master new tools, ensuring I can be the most effective advocate possible when speaking with donors and executive leaders alike.

This is not just a career for me. It is a lifelong commitment to supporting and empowering migrants' dignity and futures. Now, I am eager to bring this lived experience, systems thinking, and strategic communications skills to USA for UNHCR's digital marketing team in service of a world where every person forced to flee can build a better future.
